I have been posting quite a few photos of autumn apple recipes on Instagram and have been asked by a few people to share which ones I have used. So I thought I would gather them here so they were all in one place and easy to find when you are scrambling for an idea…perfect for when someone gifts you with a huge bag of apples from their tree!
I’m not going to pretend that I am a natural cook or indeed baker, but when I get in the kitchen I do love it…I’ll never be amazing but it is lovely to share something that you have made from scratch. Especially when it is something grown rather than bought.
So with a bundle of apples gifted by a friend and my mum I thought I would find some recipes that would make the most of the natural abundance that are the misshapen beauty of apples in the autumn…
Here we go:
I made this apple pie – and I tend to agree, it was pretty delicious!!
Slow cooked apple sauce – drizzled over pork chops and served with some baby boiled and steam broccoli…a hit with the girls as much as us.
My homemade fruit infused gin – used blackberry and apple as a change from my rosehip or blackberry, lime and cardamom.
Apple and cinnamon scones. I have ALWAYS planned to make these and finally got around to it this year. Eaten fresh out of the oven they were delicious!!
I have really enjoyed my apple recipe surge – if you have any others I should try I would absolutely love to know! In the meantime…happy autumn baking!!
