I am so behind on baby presents…so I thought I’d do a general banner like this one that I could reproduce a few times, giving me the chance to use the freezer paper that I’ve been dying to use since I got it!
For a unisex ‘baby’ quote I used “Dream big little one.”
SO here goes….
What you need: freezer paper, background fabric ( 2 A4 size pieces), patterned fabric for DREAM letters, driftwood, string.
// I backed my chosen fabric with Bondaweb using the iron and cut out the letters for ‘dream’ in capital letters. I measured the height using a ruler and then cut the letters freehand as I like it to look a little quirky.
// On the computer I typed the “big…little one” and ran a practise one through the printer.
// I used this A4 freezer paper and ironed it to my fabric. Then you place it in the printer drawer as you would a normal piece of paper.
// When it had printed, I ironed in place the ‘DREAM’ letters.
// Cut a triangle shape to the bottom of both A4 pieces of fabric. Place right side together and sew, leaving the top edge open. I used a serger and then fed through the end thread but if you are using a regular sewing machine then trim the points so they don’t gather when you turn it right way round.
// Turn right side round and press.
// Fold the top edge over twice…measure carefully to allow your driftwood to slip through the opening.
// Sew.
// Feed through driftwood and tie the string to each end.
// It is now ready to hang in any wee one’s nursery!!
