This was meant to be a Christmas recipe which then turned into a New Year recipe but in reality could be used anytime you have someone coming or just want to celebrate in general! Perfect little recipe to do with kids too.
It is the simplest combination possible…Oreos and some cream cheese.
We used 2 packs of chocolate oreos and about 2/3 pack (280g) cream cheese (we used Philadelphia).
// Blitz the oreos in a food processor (or bash by hand!)
// Add the cream cheese and, using your hands, mix to form a firm consistency. Probably best to air on the side of caution and gradually add the cheese until you are able to easily roll into a ball shape.
// Place in the freezer for 20 mins.
// For the outside, melt some chocolate (dark, white or both!) over a pan of boiling water. We used cake pop sticks to hold the ball in the chocolate and then transfer to the paper.
// While still wet, use any sprinkles or toppings you have at hand to decorate. Writing icing makes a nice last touch, drizzled over the top but whatever you choose; enjoy making a mess and then place in the fridge to harden.
// Lift off and place in mini cupcake wrappers or simply serve on a plate.
Enjoy…you’ll not just have one!
