Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back and reasons to stay
Dalai Lama
I want my girls to feel freedom. Really feel it. Freedom in an age of fear, restriction and bombardment. Of pressure and of stuff.
To keep that little bottle of childhood lack of self awareness…the thing that makes them want to jump as high and as long as they can, just because it feels free in that moment. To make the silliest face they can when they stretch. To skip and twirl when you could simply walk.
The gift of childhood.
That living in a moment.
To look on a view and really see it. The first time. Experience it and sense it.
When do we lose the wonder?
The sense of awe in both the big and little things.
Give me a little of the freedom they have; the wonder and the love of things just for what they are. Let me feel it and pass it back to them. A glimpse of the small in a world that’s so big.
Help me to point out the glory. To teach them see the beauty that will always lie before them if they search…no matter how small.
To teach them to savour the moment. To notice.
This is it…the one life we’re given.
The one childhood they get to live.
Lets help them live free.

I love this. So sweet and opposite of so many moms who just want to control and over protect. Beautiful encouragement.
