We were in London last week and I had made this little bracelet and stowed it away in case we needed it, and…as it turned out, we did!
Our littlest is so inquisitive, so confident and self assured. She will often wander off without a thought. So after a panic stricken few minutes at the London Eye where we lost her completely, this little bracelet stayed on her wrist for the rest of our stay!!
It is so easy to make…
A length of elastic ribbon (I made mine about 35 inches)
Beads
// Loop and knot one end that will fit around your wrist
// Thread a few beads through the other end and knot a loop to create a bracelet. Make sure the bracelet is not too tight but also not so loose that it will slip off.
This was a great wee thing which kept Maddie close at hand whilst also giving her a little independence. It gave me such reassurance in busy areas. The only thing to watch for is that if she stretched it out or ran ahead, the bracelet would slip off and spring back (watch out for those beads!! Make it without the beads to avoid a stingy slap…I hold no responsibility for injuries from flying wrist links…you have been warned!) but at least these wee moments made us stop and slip it back on.
