So we’re coming into summer and all that time with our kids. If the weather is sunny and dry they’re more than likely to be outside but here are a few little sewing projects that I’ve done with my girls that you might want to consider if it’s wet or you need a wee break from the sunshine!
// A little embroidery hoop to practise running stitch and sewing on those buttons!
// A super easy cushion
// A soft and cuddly owl
// An upcycled bag
// A little tea towel tote bag…perfect for those summer adventures!
// Hanging hearts
// Free embroidery
// A mini garland to hang in the bedroom or make it super long and hand it around an outdoor umbrella or pergola!
I saw these sewing sheets, on Skip to my Lou, to teach kids how to handle a sewing machine and thought they were a genius idea…print them out and watch how your kids get better at manoeuvring their machine.
Cindy has a wealth of sewing ideas and other crafts if you’re interested…these are some specific projects on her sewing with kids series.
Hope this helps if you’re stuck for ideas some wet afternoon. (And if not check our this post on encouraging boredom; honestly, I love the little things they make when left to themselves!)
Either way, get some supplies in so you’re ready to go…have fun!!
xx

This is such an adorable series! Is there a chance you might have ideas for boys? That's all I have but I still thing handling a machine is valuable.
