I don’t know about your house but when my girls come in from school they are completely ravenous and will graze on a lot of food unless I’m prepared.
My three are completely different eaters with my younger 2 very basic fruit eaters who don’t seem to like any kind of berry!
I find it difficult sometimes to find a ‘one size fits all’ snack that is healthy and filling. As a result I tend to leave out a choice of different fruit/nuts/bread and let them choose. I reckon their wee bodies crave what they need anyway.
I wish I could say this smoothie ticks the box (which it doesn’t) as it is only my oldest who will make it, but she chooses from the fruit on offer and then gets herself organised to make her own combination!
It is so easy to use; she will chop her fruit and make the smoothie of her choice all on her own…win, win! Best of all, it’ll keep her going until tea and stop the grazing.
I either have one with her at this snack time to stave off the late afternoon cravings that have me hoaking in the cupboard, usually looking for a sugar fix. I often add a handful of spinach that I’ve frozen into individual bags to give a little bit of extra health. I wish I was better though and that I did this regularly but at least it’s a step in the right direction!!
As simple as chopping all the fruit in the smoothie maker. Add almond milk and blend. Done!
Just make sure it isn’t stolen by little hands!
