We had a bit of a ‘hairband love’ day today. Maddie wouldn’t take hers off and Abi used
hers to hold her top knot in!!
You can use as many or as few flowers on each hairband as you want although I found when using two or three flowers you need to stitch them together to give them a bit of extra strength and help them stay together.
They are soooo easy to make…here’s how:
^^ You’ll need a small piece of felt, an elastic hairband and a glue gun.
^^ If you don’t have a glue, simply hand stitch in place.
^^ Cut the felt into a spiral…don’t worry about getting the edges perfectly straight as this will give the flower a more rippled edge (which I actually prefer).
^^ Start at the outer point and start rolling. Keep going right until the centre.
^^ Using your glue gun, put a dot on the last edge and then in the centre. Hold down the centre part of the spiral over the flower. It should hold really well in place.
(You can put small stitches here instead of a glue gun if you don’t have one)
^^ Lay the flower face down on the table. Position the hairband along the top and cut out a small felt circle to place on the top of the hairband.
^^ Glue all these pieces in place.
And that’s it, you’re done! Now you can go use up all those little squares of felt you have lying about. I have glued them onto hair clips and bobbles too!
To see who I’m linking up with head here!
Come back on Thursday and I’ll send you the direction of some gorgeous hairband tutorials from around the net.
