I am always a bit reluctant to set out goals and resolutions at this time of year but I have felt a little differently of recent.
I am sensitive by nature, nostalgic and laid back…too laid back maybe. I like to let situations evolve naturally and tend to deal with issues as they arise. I know these traits can be assets at times, sometimes though, I find that time drifts on and some of the things I’d thought about or planned to do just haven’t happened.
Recently, I have been much more aware of this…frustrated; challenged that this is a part of my character that I should examine more closely.

I want to be more organised, to set goals and fulfil plans.
I have felt the need to be more intentional with the people around me, with the different elements that make up my life.
I want to be a goal setter…I want to plan and be proactive. I want to be organised. I want to wake earlier so that I get my head together before the rest of the family descends. I hope to choose better, more wisely, to be patient and to speak in a way that is gentle, encouraging. I want to actually do the things that pop into my head to do…to write that card to a friend I haven’t seen in ages, to make the meal for a next door neighbour, to lift the phone to speak to an elderly relative.
I want to be a doer and not just a thinker.
Seems so overwhelming but actually in a nutshell I want to make the little moments count.
And in the little moments to choose wisely…to be intentional.

I've chosen intentional as my word for 2014. So many of your goals fall under my desire to be more intentional in this life. Wishing you the best as you navigate 2014!

Yay! This was my word as well. I specifically want to be more intentional in my prayer life, and to use my time here on this planet more wisely, including spending some of it for needed down time, creative time, etc. Happy New Year! Found you through the link up!

Yes! So good. I definitely feel that way. I may not be too laid back… but I can tend to get myself "busy" and then procrastinate on the things that are important to me but seem harder to do. Intentional is a good way to live this year! xo

Being organized is huge for me as well and making every little moment count is sooo important. What I learned through a book I'm currently reading "God Never Blinks" is our kids only have one childhood and it can shape the way they grow up, so make it count. Love your family pics!
