This wee woman has moved out of her cot and into a new big bed.
This is big for me…it has taken such a long time in comparison with her sisters but it has just happened at such a perfect time for her and she has loved the transition.
We’ve managed to reuse so much, her bed is an old one from my aunt, slightly battered but settles in the room like it has always been there. The wardrobe was a bargain at a local charity shop, her bookshelf…another treasure from my aunt.
I love that they bring a story to her room.
stretched out on her bed reading books
lying on the floor playing trains
playing shop
rocking in her mini rocking chair…
…images stamped on my heart that I never want to forget.
Print above fireplace by Clare Nicolson inspired by a print I saw on a post by Mel Wiggins.
Clare Mansell (Maybush Studio) says
I love that old bed of your aunts, you are lucky with your hand-me-downs!

I know…we were going to paint it but actually have decided we love its battered look!
It still has its original price label underneath!
