We all want to live life to the full.
Savour the moments.
Take risks.
Step out in faith.
But what if a life lived is to be in the humdrum, the mundane, the ordinary?
What if my influence was the 3 little girls in my care?
Would that be ok? Would it be enough for me?
As I fill the washing machine, do dishes, wait for little ones to run out the school gate…I want to be thankful, to be prayerful, to devote myself to living the ordinary.
To relishing the little moments of what the ordinary brings.
The giggles, the smiles, the chats at bedtime.
Breathing it all in and being thankful, for in a fleeting moment it will all be gone – little girls will become women and I will stand beside them…to watch, support and encourage as those little wings become stronger and are tested, strengthened and stretched.
And I am glad I made the choice to be here for it…to be present. Because, for me, all those little moments become a part of who they are. The good moments, the bad…they see me in my moments of elation and frustration…they see a ‘real’ me.
I want to live the ordinary with them. I want it because in the ordinary I get to share life. I get to influence. I get to see, to glimpse the little things in their lives.
I want to be in the present, the ordinary and I want to live it well.

That was absolutely beautiful!! Thank you. SUCH a reminder as i have some down time with my three year old today, and it is so obvious that he just wants some attention. (since he is normally vying for my attention with the three brothers. ;))
