A little purse is ALWAYS a handy thing to have for those necessities. Of recent, I have been carrying this little box purse as an oil bag for all my ‘on the go’ oils – the ones I use on a daily basis! Peppermint, Peace and Calming II, a Valor roller, a Thieves roller, a Stress Away roller and a couple of lipbalms! They are handy in my bag when I need them!
I had some gorgeous linen and decided to contrast it with a muted floral fabric I had bought a while back…I am so pleased with it that I might just keep it as a make up bag for my handbag!
You’ll need:
*2 contrasting fabrics, zip, scissors, sewing machine, vanishing pen, pins and measuring tape
// Cut the two different fabric into 2 pieces each 5 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches
// Lay your outer fabric face up, zip (face down) and lining (face down)
// Pin and sew using the zipper foot on your machine
// Fold the fabric back to one side of the zip.
// Layer your fabric. Second piece of lining fabric face up, zip (and first layers of fabric with outer fabric facing up) and last piece of outer fabric face down with the top edge lined up with the top edge of the zip. Pin and sew.
// Press and fold the two pieces of outer fabric right sides together. Pin. Sew along this long edge.
// Make sure your zip is half open and position so that zip is face down in top centre of the pencil case. Sew along the two ends, taking care sewing over the zip so that your needle doesn’t break.
// Pinch each corner of the pencil case and measure a line across from edge to edge of 2 1/2 inches. Draw a line and sew along this. Cut off the excess fabric. Do this for all 4 corners.
// Knot edges and turn right side round.
That’s it, you’re done…all ready for school or work or for those ‘on the go’ oils!!
