I’ve done a virtual coffee date before but lets have a spring coffee date…one where we can enjoy the buds appearing and colour creeping in to the garden as we linger over a hot cuppa while enjoying the open back doors and windows ajar.
The kind of coffee where you sit down and debate the things of life. The niggles that annoy you, the things that inspire and those everyday, ordinary kind of things that are important to life and how it ticks on. Ticks on.
It used to worry me…people would ask – how’s it going? And I’d answer with the – yeah, great…you know, life’s ticking on. The days just pass so quickly!
And now I’ve made a peace with this. Yes – the days do tick on quickly and I can’t slow it down, no matter how I would like…so it’s a matter of savouring (the new word Maddie has just learned and uses at every opportunity!).
So if we sat down together today I’d tell you that my heart weighed heavy about London and the thought that families live with the consequences of one act, long after we have forgotten. That I wish we could show solidarity and love and hope all wrapped up into one tidy little package and show those families a way forward but I feel helpless at the thought of two little girls who lost their mum. I’d tell you that I gave my girls an extra squeeze at bedtime tonight and showed a little more patience than normal.
I’d also share that I’m nearing the end of some things and allowing a bit more time for creativity. That I am planning to pull my machine out over the weekend to make something I’d like to share. Something of use, to make and make do.
I’ve enjoyed the platform of instagram, how it has pushed me to think visually and consistently and how I find I can find something to photograph even though my inspiration can be low at times. I have loved connecting with folk from all over and enjoying their daily inspirations:
For a few other bits of inspiration over your cuppa..
// I’ve been loving the Kim Klassen tutorials and presets
// I’ve been searching for lettering pins and quote inspiration from Pinterest
// A wee treat for myself for Mother’s Day!! I’m going to enjoy using this!
// The Lost Adventures of Childhood – you must watch this if you’ve kids at home, soooooooo good!
// Looking forward to this local film being released.
Have a lovely weekend lovelies!
