I always feel the same in January…I need the house to be clean and clear. Like most people, I feel a need for a fresh start and to get rid of the clutter!
I usually clear toys and the girl’s bedrooms in the run up to Christmas but I was not on the ball this year and didn’t get it done. So January has become the ‘big clear out’. We have a few plans in place for our house which involves a bit of an overhaul over the next couple of months so I’m trying to use all available moments for cleaning, clearing and making…all those jobs I’ve put on the back burner – until now!
I don’t know about you but I need to stick to a weekly routine for my cleaning or it doesn’t get done. I’ll maybe elaborate in the future about all of this but, for now, my routine is the regular stuff plus my mother-in-law’s strategy of deep cleaning a room per month so the house doesn’t get on top of me. That’s the plan anyway!!
So for now…I’ll keep ticking off my list. Keep finishing the jobs that are nearest and try to cosy up for the rest of winter. I’ve kept up some twinkly lights, put some eucalyptus on the mantel and laid out my softest blankets on the sofa for a feeling of warmth and homeliness.
On that note…here are a few cosy throws to make you want to snuggle up!!
Curate & Display: the most gorgeous throw! You’ll linger on this blog for an age…so many ideas and inspiration. Total blog love!!
Mourne Textiles….oh the textile love and what a story. A homegrown talent nestled in the foot of our very own Mourne mountains. One of these would be perfect on my sofa!!
Or maybe unlike me, you are a knitter and could whip up your own big, chunky throw?? If not check out this beauty on notonthehighstreet.com.
Whatever you’re cosied under, I hope you’re having a happy January!!
